Welcome to the 6th grade!

I'm delighted to introduce myself as the 6th grade teacher for the 2010-2011 school year!  I am looking forward to a year full of rich and wonderful experiences.

My name is Mrs. Pagarigan.  I am a native of Honduras, a small Central American nation on the Caribbean Sea.  I was raised in a Christian home with my three sisters.

I have lived in Honduras, Holland, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay.  I have visited Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil, and El Salvador.  I received my High School diploma form Asuncion Christian Academy, a small Christian School in Paraguay, South America.  The Lord led me to first job soon after graduation, and it was then that I discovered that I love to teach!  I attended Palm Beach Atlantic University to earn my Bachelor of Science degree in Education.  I minored in Art.

After my wedding in 1999, I relocated with my husband to San Diego, California, where we lived for 6 years.  There I taught in a "biliteracy" classroom, first 3rd grade and then Kindergarten for 3 years.  My instructional goal was to help my students learn to  read and write in both English and Spanish.

In 2003, I gave birth to identical twin boys.  I made the decision to resign from my teaching position to stay home with my sons.  In 2005, our family made the move to Los Angeles.  We enjoyed visiting Hollywood and Disneyland regularly!  When my husband accepted a position in a research lab at the University of Connecticut Health Center in October of 2007, we made the move to the northeast, just in time for snow!

Since our arrival in New England, I have become involved in both the Children's Ministry and the Adult Ministry in my church.  I am convinced that God doesn't just call me to attend church, but to serve Him there.

I taught Spanish I part time in the Upper School here at The Master's School during the 2008-2009 school year.  It was a joy to teach my students the language of my heart, and to share my cultural experiences with them.  My 6th grade students can expect to enter the 7th grade knowing some Spanish themselves; I can't help myself!

I have taught in both public and private schools, but I consider it a special privilege to be teaching at The Master's School this year, as I believe that my time spent with my students is an eternal investment in their lives.  I wish to partner with parents not only to help their children succeed academically, but to help these young men and women develop a desire to know God and discover His will for them.

I am eager to get to know my students and develop strong and lasting relationships with them as we discover "new worlds" outside our classroom door, and the majesty of the God who created them.

I can be reached via email at rpagarigan@masterschool.org.
