How else can I support The Master's School?
Like most independent schools, The Master’s School has two sources of income: tuition and charitable contributions. And like essentially all independent schools, tuition income alone does not cover the cost of providing a quality education for our students.
The truth is, we need and value your support. If you are a current parent, we do not take lightly that we are asking you to provide support above and beyond the cost of tuition. In light of that:
- We try to be creative in providing ways to do that that are “painless”. These opportunities let you invest in The Master's School without costing you anything beyond what you are already spending.
- We try to leverage donations to the fullest extent possible by assisting you in setting up employer matching gifts or United Way contributions.
- We try to target events to specific projects and to limit the number of events to a few well placed ones so that you don’t feel overwhelmed – for example
- Fall Gala - Dinner and Auction at Simsbury Inn - October 15, 2010 - Further details will be forthcoming.
- Barnes & Noble Book Fair to benefit the library - This year's date: November 11, 2010. Last year, in our first time doing this, we raised over $600 to benefit the library and more books were purchased from teacher wish lists than Barnes & Noble has seen before.
- Spring Golf Classic to benefit the Tuition Assistance Fund - exact date TBD, usually in early June.
However, as essential and beneficial as the above things are, the Annual Fund remains the primary vehicle – aside from tuition - for meeting the school’s financial needs. The 2009-2010 Annual Fund is set up in a way that lets you designate a gift to something that captures your heart. Please explore the information, see what your investment provides and make a gift to the Annual Fund that fits your family’s budget.
