Alumni Spotlight

As a rising sophomore studying International Relations at Brown, Austen Sundara '18 will be studying abroad for 2 months in China's capital, Beijing, hosted by PiB (Princeton in Beijing). Through support from the university and the Freeman Awards for Study in Asia scholarship program, he hopes to develop his language skills and be better equipped for a global career, whether it be international law or international business. Austen says, "As I was thinking of those career paths, I was reminded of service projects like Serving Simsbury and age-old questions in classes, such as Mrs. Deckert's Apologetics/Senior Seminar. Looking back at my 7 years at Master's, I realize my teachers' collective desires for their students to have a growth mindset with a Biblical worldview. This enduring vision is why I am not only able to to study abroad, but also to impact the world for Christ."
