Almost two hundred current and past parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends gathered at The Master’s School 2018 Gala & Auction at The Riverview in Simsbury on March 23. The Gala is the largest fundraiser for The Master’s School Annual Fund and over $88,000 was raised, exceeding the goal.
The program included a keynote address by former history teacher and Middle and Upper School Director and now current President of the Board of Trustees, Kathryn Kay. Kathy spoke about the many ways the school has changed the lives of students and families and the value of the relationships between students and their teachers and mentors. Guests enjoyed a video of the Chamber Group of seniors – two violinists and a pianists. They later heard a testimony from one of the violinists, René Liz, who shared why he was “grateful for a God-Powered institution filled with academic, spiritual and personal growth.”
The Gala & Auction included a silent auction with items ranging from date nights and handmade items to a flight experience in a WWII L-3 aircraft and Red Sox tickets with an autographed baseball. Additionally, the live auction featured Yankees Legends Suite tickets, a week-long island vacation stay in Florida, and a Martha’s Vineyard Getaway including a private three-hour sail. Area businesses, parents, faculty, and friends of the school generously contributed to the exciting variety of auction offerings. Sponsors included United Bank Foundation of Connecticut, Athena Health Care Systems, AIM Insurance Agency, Carmon Funeral Homes, The Master’s Construction Corp., Realized Solutions, and Whalley Computer Assoc.For nearly 50 years the school has been dedicated to academic excellence and spiritual maturity as it prepares its 300 preschool through grade 12 students for futures of leadership and service. The Master's School is ranked the Best Private K-12 School in the Hartford Area by niche.com.
