The Master's School Difference

The Master's School is a nationally accredited college-preparatory Christian day school educating students preschool through grade 12. Setting it apart from traditional college preparatory schools, The Master's School is built upon the Biblical principles of truth, integrity, and excellence. Innovative since its founding in 1970, The Master's School educates each student seeking to develop his or her God-given talents.
With many great schools to choose from, students at The Master's School experience something beyond excellent college-preparatory academics. Here are several distinctives that set The Master's School apart:
1. Christian Values + Academic Excellence

Students have the distinct advantage of college-preparatory instruction and mentoring by Christian teachers, coaches and leaders.
2. Individualized Education

We seek out student gifts and talents and educate to develop them. This is not a one-curriculum-fits-all school.
3. Small Class Size

The average class size of 15 students enables teachers to know and relate to students as individuals, maximizing each student's ability to learn in each subject.
4. Critical Thinking Skills
Teachers encourage and address age-appropriate life questions with students during the school day. They also support students as they wrestle with deeper assignments that advance their abilities to take academics beyond memorization.
5. Close-knit Community

Relationships between students and teachers are unusually valued at The Master's School. Another unique characteristic of the school is interaction among age groups from preschool through grade 12, as many schools do not have this age span of students on one campus.
6. Education and Service Beyond the Classroom

Students enjoy multiple field trips, class retreats, mission trips, service projects, and mentoring partner schools. These seem to be increasingly unusual in a school setting and yet they often provide a key opportunity for significant student growth, personally and spiritually.
7. Diversity

The Master's School students reflect our community at large. Our families and students bring global and regional perspectives. We have students from 6 countries, 3 states, 47 towns, and 66 churches. Students learn to respect and interact responsibly with a broad variety of others with different backgrounds and beliefs.
8. National and State Accreditations and Affiliations

The Master's School is fully accredited by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The school is also a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), Connecticut Association of Independent Schools (CAIS), and Educational Records Bureau (ERB).
