Jim is our Upper School Visual Arts Teacher. He teaches a variety of classes including Introduction to Advanced Levels of Drawing, Painting, Portfolio Preparation, 2D Design, Art and Social Media, and UCONN ECE Drawing. Jim earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts degree at The University of Hartford Art School. He furthered his education by earning his Master of Arts degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Hartford Art School.
Jim has been teaching fine arts for 21 years to both Upper School students at The Master's School and college students at Tunxis Community College. He decided to be a teacher because he loves to create art and share his passion with his students. Jim chose The Master's School because he loves being able to integrate his faith and art in the classroom. Jim is a very experienced artist who has been commissioned to paint several portraits including Dr. Frank Torti- Dean of University of Connecticut Health Center, and Mr. Mark Scheinberg, President of Goodwin College. Jim’s work has been exhibited at Tunxis Community College, University of Hartford, Syracuse University and The New Britain Museum of American Art among others.
In his spare time, Jim loves being a husband and father. His family loves going on adventures like canoeing down a river, running, hiking, and playing. A fun fact about Jim is that he was a collegiate rugby player.
