Sarah is one of our Upper School English teachers. She teaches ELA, Narrative, and Nonfiction in World Cultures, UCONN ECE English, AP English Literature and Composition, and Writer’s Studio. Sarah attended Mount Holyoke College where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a Religion minor. Furthering her education, Sarah completed her Masters in Teaching with a specialization in secondary level English at Connecticut College. She is also a certified as a CT Provisional Educator and a certified University of Connecticut Early College Experience English teacher. Additionally, she became a Teacher Consultant for the Connecticut Writing Project through UCONN and the CT Writing Project Summer Institute for Teachers.
Sarah has been teaching throughout her adult life with a focus in English Literature and as Director of Children’s Ministries at two churches. Sarah has known she wanted to be a teacher since she was in Middle School. She was inspired by her own teachers and she felt that God was calling her to become a teacher by making her aware of the skills she valued in her own teachers: their ability to be optimistic and their desire to share their hope and joy in God’s plans. She considers her opportunity to teach a true pleasure and honor. Sarah chose to become a part of The Master's School because she enjoys the opportunity to be a part of God’s plans for The Master's School. She loves that she is able to express her Christian worldview in class and make direct connections between the literature and examples in God’s word.
Sarah grew up at The Master's School. She was a student here when the school first purchased this campus. Sarah and her family were able to help clean up and prepare the campus for that coming school year. She appreciates the commitment from all of those who were integral in starting the school and those who continue to make the school all that it is today.
In her spare time, Sarah loves to spend time with her family and go on many adventures with them. They love to be outdoors enjoying God’s creating by hiking, kayaking, and swimming at the beach. Sarah loves alpine skiing and playing golf.
