Sylvia Wallis » Bio

In her 17th year at The Master’s School, Sylvia is one of our Lower School Visual Arts teachers. She received her degree in Art Education from Westfield State University, and continues to pursue her equipping in workshop and class certificates in arts and education.

Sylvia chose to enter the teaching profession because she has a passion for uncovering each child’s potential for creativity. Her desire is to provide delightful art experiences in which children become confident explorers, problem solvers, and deep thinkers with sharpened observation skills that enhance their ability to appreciate beauty and uniqueness in design. The Master’s School values and goals support her heart to help children discover God’s design on their lives in the setting of a supportive and joyful community.

Sylvia and her husband live in Westfield, MA. They have two grown children, Janine and Christopher, who are graduates of The Master’s School. She enjoys reading, cooking, gardening, creativity, hosting events, nature, the seashore, and time with family and friends.

A fun fact about Sylvia is that German was her first language.
