TMS Senior Nicole Allen Signs to Play Collegiate Softball

Senior Nicole Allen signed a national letter of intent on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 to play softball with Wheaton College (IL) in the Spring of 2022.
Allen has played with Master’s for her entire high school career, batting a HVAL-leading .800 in her sophomore season. She won MVP honors all 3 seasons (junior year was cancelled due to COVID) and homered as a senior in her last game at Kingswood Oxford School.

TMS Athletics Manager Heather McIlroy said of Allen, “Nicole has worked very hard to improve in a sport she is so passionate about in order to play at the collegiate level. Her dedication, work ethic, and leadership have served her well and inspired those around her.”

Allen has also been a part of the Simsbury Little League since 2008, playing on multiple All-Star teams, winter ball and NCGSL. Allen was recently selected by the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce as the Tim Pusch Scholarship Award winner due to her community service and volunteer efforts, especially with her involvement in the Simsbury Little League.

Allen has played with the Mirage travel program for the past two seasons. The highlight of her travel career so far was hitting a home run to help her team win the championship game of the Annie Olender Memorial Tournament in Southington.

Mike Lagace, Mirage 18U Travel Head Coach, said, “Nicole has developed into a very dependable catcher through her tireless work ethic. She is a great teammate, always there with an encouraging word and putting the team before herself. Congratulations, Nicole, on your decision to join Wheaton College softball. You will be a valuable asset to the team both on and off the field.”

Nicole will be attending Wheaton in the fall to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.
