Theatre Arts Integration Project is Well Underway

Grade 8 students are enjoying the role of playwright as they deeply engage in phase one of their drama production partnership with CITA (Christians in Theater Arts, https://cita.org/history). After completing a dystopia fiction unit in English, students were inspired to begin writing a script with a futuristic and profound plot. Taking place in the year 2222, 16-year-old Daniel Asher and his friends fight against a corrupt and powerful leader (Governor Herod Stone). Aroostook County will cause one to take pause and consider important matters of faith and the heart. After receiving critical feedback from a variety of theater professionals, students will enter phase two and three which involve learning to tell a story outside of language (lighting, set design, costumes, etc.), school wide auditions, a pre-production presentation, and lastly, a final production.
