Middle School

Course work Middle School Art reflects a gradual evolution of projects that moves students from creating art that is “of” a thing, toward art that is “about” a thing; art that expresses personal point-of-view, and reveals how uniquely God made each.
Guided by elements and principles of design, students explore a breadth of mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture and printmaking. Students glean from historical and contemporary art perspectives. In addition to developing individual aesthetic, students learn why art matters, discovering spiritual, vocational and cultural value beyond anecdote. Building a Christ-centered community that nurtures collective vulnerability, and fosters creative expression is central to the arts.
