L [1-4] vs Rumsey Hall

After starting the season with a strong win The Master's School Lions dropped a disappointing game to Rumsey Hall. A slow start led to a slow finish as the boys struggled to find the back of the net despite dominating the posession in the first half. A last second goal by the visting team set the score at 1-0 Rumsey as the teams regrouped at the break. First time goalkeeper Eddie Langlois stepped up for the start in the absence of injured Cam Peters, and performed admirably in his first 30 minutes.

Losing centerback Evan Ellrod to injury just before half, Masters' defense in the second struggled. Brothers Reagan and Ryan Luchina gave characteristic strong efforts, but as a whole the team couldn't keep up pressure and allowed Rumsey to widen their lead.

SouL Decker managed to toe the ball over the keeper's head to get the Lions on the board but Masters found they didn't have enough in the tank to complete the comeback.

Man of the Match Porter Willauer and fellow sixth grader James Scharoff stood out for their hustle on the wing, fighting against larger players for posession and otherwise giving their all in the losing effort.

Masters is now blessed with a long break before their next game: time to heal, recover, and find their footing as a team. They'll be back on the training pitch together next Tuesday.
