The Master’s School Class of 2026 gathered with family and friends at Valley Community Baptist Church in Avon, Connecticut, on Saturday, June 6, to celebrate the school’s 55th Commencement.
TMS Board Chairman Todd Shelansky opened the ceremony with a meaningful challenge to the graduating seniors. He encouraged them not to become preoccupied with immediate decisions—such as choosing a college, major, or career path—but instead to prioritize building a strong relationship with God. Shelansky emphasized the importance of regularly spending time in Scripture and prayer so they may discern His voice and direction in their lives.
Each graduate was individually recognized and honored by a faculty member, who highlighted the student’s accomplishments, character, and future plans. These tributes also reflected the unique and meaningful relationships formed between students and teachers during their time at TMS.
The ceremony featured heartfelt speeches from several students, who reflected on their high school experiences and expressed gratitude to their families, teachers, and classmates. Senior Hayden Peters spoke on behalf of the class, offering thanks to the faculty: “Thank you for guiding us, challenging us, and genuinely caring about who we are becoming. You didn’t just teach us subjects—you taught us how to think and how to lead lives based on God’s truth.”
Additional highlights included Scripture readings by seniors, a video montage showcasing memories from their years at The Master’s School, and a student-led turning of the tassel. Graduates were presented with their diplomas along with a commemorative Class of 2026 medallion, uniquely designed by senior art students Halle Boucher and Aruna Lucier.
Head of School Dr. Brian Modarelli concluded the ceremony with his Charge to the Class of 2026, encouraging students to thoughtfully consider three guiding questions: Who am I? Where do I belong? Where am I going? He urged graduates to carry both the name of Christ and their own names with grace, passion, love, and peace as they step into the future.
Congratulations to The Master’s School Class of 2026!
