Game Recording HERE

After only one day of practice, the Boys Middle School Lions prepared to host the visiting Torrington Christian Academy Flames as the first game of an exciting triple header event. With 18 active players on the bench they would have their work cut out for them to play with consistency as players were subbed in and out throughout the competition.

The scoring opened slowly with both teams struggling to find the bottom of the basket and the first quarter ended with the score tied 7-7. The second quarter was equally back and forth and both teams entered halftime with the score tied again 17-17.

In the second half, the scoring really opened up for both teams. Player of the Game Carmelo Walker led the way for Masters scoring 24 of the team's 43 points. Isaac Earnest, Evan Ellrod, Cam Peters, and Ben Frey rounded out the scoring as the team held on to win by five. The boys had been up by as many as 10 in the third quarter.

Considering they played with only one day of practice and had 18 players cycle through, the boys did a great job! The team did well cutting to the basket, rotating through, and making good passes. They'll need to work on rebounding and their defensive setup but overall, this was a great first outing and an exciting first win of the season. Good game boys!
