A tough outing for the MS Boys A, who started slow and then never managed to catch up.
Playing without their usual spark plug Ben Frey, TMS allowed KO to open up a 14-2 lead in the first three minutes of the game. The Lions eventually woke up and found some offense, but the game sat at an 8 point difference for pretty much the rest of the time.
Facing an aggresive zone press the Lions struggled to find easy baskets, although they did well to chip away throughout the game. After that slow start the game was played pretty much even: the score was 18-6 after one, 28-20 at half, and 34-26 after three. Unfortunuately Masters just didn't have enough buckets to overcome that slow start, especially in the face of the well-organized defense KO showed.
Player of the Game CarmeloWalker (12 PTS) was the Lions' engine, breaking the press again and again and keeping the ball moving, but the team did well to share the load. Cam Peters (8 PTS), Evan Ellrod (7 PTS), Isaac Earnest (5 PTS), Nate Duval (3 PTS), and Landon Stelzer (2 PTS) all contributed to Masters' total.
