For a while in March it seemed like Winter would never end but as TMS came back from Spring Break all the families seemed to bring good weather with them! So it was a beautiful day for baseball as the Lions took on Renbrook School in their first game of the season.

Master's opened the scoring early when Cam Peters scored from second on a opposite field base hit from Evan Ellrod. Unfortunately the Lions were not able to hold on to that lead for too long, as Renbrook answered back with some big hits from the top of their lineup, including a two run homer.

Starting pitcher Isaac Earnest was however entirely unfazed. Isaac threw two comple innings, striking out 3 with only 1 walk and throwing more than 50% of his pitches for strikes! Excellent outing, Isaac!

After an active first inning on both sides the game seemed to settle in and although Master's never hurt for baserunners, they were unable to bring them all the way around. A shaky defensive inning in the third artificially widened the gap before the time limit brought the game to a close.

Despite the numbers on the scoreboard there was a lot to be encourages by in this game! The Lions each stepped up to the plate and worked good at bats, drawing 7 walks and stealing 6 bases. Player of the Game Ben Frey built a wall behind home plate, blocking everything while calling a great game for his pitchers. Ben was a leader on the field and in the dugout on Thursday.

The Lions will look to regroup and come at it again as they take to the field Wednesday at home vs Rumsey Hall.
