Temperatures plummeted as game time approached and as the teams took the field a cold wind blew across Lebo Field. The home Lions and visiting Winged Beavers matched up closely, and the game remained scoreless through the entire first half.

Emergency goalkeeper Will Frey managed the net excellently, claiming several important saves and maintaining the cleansheet through the first 40 minutes. Unfortunately Master's struggled to build meanginful posession and left their own score empty despite several golden scoring chances from Dom Bergantino, Luke Boucher and Gage Arnold. A back-and-forth, kick-and-run style of competition plagued both teams throughout the first period.

Whether through fatigue or something else, Master's struggled to control the midfield in the second half, allowing the visitors to run through on several scary occasions. Thankfully the back line of Reagan Luchina, Evan Ellrod, Owen Gray, and Ben Yawingu held strong, sacrificing their bodies to keep the ball in front and prevent any serious challenges on goal. Will made several acrobatic saves in the opening minutes of the second half as well.

Then, in the 60th minute, a cross came through Masters' box. Frey was unable to keep his hands on it and AOF's tall striker found the back of the net. Yet to their credit TMS refused to let this break them. If anything they renewed their attack, putting enormous pressure on goal and quickly finding an equalizer - a nifty left footed finish from captain Dom Bergantino.

Master's controlled the rest of the game, building to several close chances running through winger Patrick Parcolesco and a beautiful volley from Evan Ellrod, but the match remained tied as time ran down and the Lions had to settle with just the one point.

After a day to recover Master's will travel to Hamden Hall for their toughest match of the season.
